Designed by KATO engineers, Pro-Kits consist of Aerospace quality free-running KATO Tangless inserts (made from 304 stainless steel), nickel plated production grade installation tool, HSS STI tap and drill bit. KATO Pro-Kits are available in the most popular unified and metric thread sizes and are ideal for aerospace, aviation, automotive, commercial applications and much more!

Damaged threads can be brought back to the original thread size and made better than new. Thread wear, corrosion and galling will be virtually eliminated. Assembly will be even stronger than the original. KATO Pro-Kits contain everything needed to get the job done from start to finish.

What is included in a Pro-Kit?

Each Pro-Kit includes Tangless thread inserts, an STI tap, drill bit, installation tool, and instructions to complete a professional thread repair.

What is the difference between Tangless inserts and traditional tanged inserts?

Tangless inserts feature drive notches at both ends, eliminating the need to break off and retrieve a tang after installation. This design helps reduce foreign object debris (FOD) risks and allows for non-destructive insert removal and depth adjustment.

What do the 1D, 1.5D, and 2D insert lengths mean?

The designations refer to the nominal length of the insert relative to the nominal thread diameter. For example, a 1D insert has a nominal length equal to one times the thread diameter, while a 2D insert has a nominal length equal to twice the thread diameter.

What materials can Pro-Kits repair?

They are commonly used on aluminum, steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and many other metals.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

Customers may request a cancellation and full refund provided the purchased tool has not been opened, accessed, activated, or used. Refund requests must be submitted before any use of the tool.
